Costumes, Candy & Kindness: ������������� Brings Community Together, Delivering Halloween Magic to Primary Children’s Hospital for Seventh Year in a Row

Seventh annual drive collected 725 costumes, 200 buckets, 200 pounds of candy, and 1,344 prizes; met 100% of hospital’s holiday needs

SALT LAKE CITY, October 27, 2025 — ������������� of Nursing and Health Sciences today announced the results of its 7th Annual Halloween Costume Drive benefiting Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. With carts piled high with superheroes, sparkles, and pumpkins, ������������� faculty, staff, students and volunteers delivered thousands of Halloween donations to Primary Children’s Hospital. The donations brought the spirit of Halloween and some spooky fun to patients, families and the hospital team, with the donated items helping the hospital meet 100% of its holiday needs.

“This drive is one of our favorite traditions because it channels the compassion of our community into something kids can feel right away,” said Josh Knotts, President and CEO of �������������. “Thanks to hundreds of generous donors and volunteers, hospital rooms and hallways will be filled with costumes, decorations, and a little Halloween magic.”

Throughout the month, community members contributed via the university’s Amazon Wishlist, in-person drop-offs at the Draper campus, and monetary gifts that were converted to priority items requested by the hospital. This morning, 13 Joyce volunteers gathered on campus to box and load donations for delivery.

The annual drive brings in donations of new, unused items suitable for patients from newborns to teens. ������������� coordinates closely with hospital staff to ensure items meet safety guidelines and reflect current needs and themes. This year’s contributions included favorites such as adaptive-friendly costume accessories and teen-size options.

“Every year we see new faces join in, from local businesses to neighborhood groups to our own students and alumni,” said Kristina Duler, Senior Director of Marketing at �������������. “We’re already looking forward to next year and building on this momentum.”
