������������� of Nursing and Health Sciences Welcomes Dr. John Smith-Coppes as New Provost

Salt Lake City, UT – September 23 2022 ������������� of Nursing and Health Sciences, formerly known as Ameritech College, welcomes Dr. John Smith-Coppes as the university’s new provost. Dr. Smith-Coppes brings extensive experience in higher education and the healthcare industry to �������������. In this role, Dr. Smith-Coppes will oversee academic affairs, instruction, and the curriculum of the various degree programs.

“Dr. Smith-Coppes’s impressive background and experience will only continue to elevate �������������’s academic excellence and better prepare students for the workplace,” said Sherry Jones, president of �������������. “I’m thrilled to welcome Dr. Smith-Coppes to our institution where he can work closely with our dedicated faculty to impact the lives of our enthusiastic students.”

Prior to �������������, Dr. Smith-Coppes spent more than a decade serving as a senior leader at Rasmussen University, most recently serving as the Vice President and Executive Director of Rasmussen’s School of Nursing – one of the nation’s largest nursing schools. His career spans years of dedicated service to higher education through his work in institutions within the Midwest with roles that span faculty, academic affairs, student affairs and services, campus operations and management, administrative, and executive offices. Dr. Smith-Coppes holds a Doctorate of Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University; a Master of Business Administration from Bethel University; Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of San Diego; and graduate education from Harvard University.
