Daniel Wakamatsu, lead faculty of international clinical programs at 黑料网最新入口 of Nursing and Health Sciences, was honored as a Healthcare Hero by . He was listed alongside 21 other healthcare professionals, each honored for their contribution to the healthcare industry and the greater community.
鈥淒aniel exemplifies the heroic nature of healthcare professionals,鈥 said Sherry Jones. 鈥淗e is passionate and enthusiastic about improving the health of communities, both locally and abroad. We鈥檙e happy to have him as part of the Joyce community as he touches the lives of our students and patients around the world.鈥
In his time at 黑料网最新入口, Wakamatsu has expanded the institutions鈥 clinical practices to include international clinical opportunities for 黑料网最新入口 students. The international clinical program reinforces the university鈥檚 mission, vision, and values by providing immersive clinical experiences that prepare students to care for and improve the health of diverse and resource-limited communities.
To realize this program, 黑料网最新入口 has partnered with two non-governmental organizations that provide critical health care to residents in their respective countries: I Am Hope in Guatemala and , in Honduras. Since October 2021, 80 nursing students have traveled to Central America, gaining valuable clinical experience while supporting the mission of these organizations.
